Can You Help Tucker Jones?

Tucker was born in the US in March 2013 with congenital defects in his heart, intestines, and airway. He has spent a lot of time in the hospital and has had over 24 operations (some in the USA, and some in Italy). He breathed through a tracheotomy tube until last April, when they were able to remove it (after several airway reconstruction surgeries). He has a feeding tube, but is learning to eat and drink by mouth, and has made some progress. He is non-verbal.

Because of hospitalizations, surgeries, etc. Tucker has some developmental delays. He requires a special education teacher and aide at school with him, and he needs extensive speech, psychomotor, and occupational therapy. This past year, he was enrolled in school to repeat kindergarten, in the hopes that with one-on-one attention he could make some significant progress. However, he was approved for only 18 hours a week, out of a 40-hour school week. Then, COVID-19 complicated things even more with taking school online, which is not really an option for Tucker in this stage of his development. He is enrolled in elementary school for the fall, but we’re not sure yet what that will look like.

Tucker’s greatest need is an educational aide who can cover the additional hours that he can’t be at school, and more therapy. These expenses would add up to about $1300 a month during the school year (September - June), and about $650 a month during the summer (July - August) for a yearly total of $14,300.

Throughout Josh and Beka’s years in missions, God has been incredibly faithful (as He always is), and through the generosity and sacrificial giving of their partners, they have seen God do amazing things.

Thank you so much for considering Tucker’s need. We pray the through one-time and monthly donations, Tucker will have an educational aide for the start of the school year in September. Can you help Tucker get an aide?
