Help Victims of Human Trafficking
From Despair to Dignity
Home of Love USA, located in Los Angeles, is a Christ-centered, nonprofit transitional housing program providing 24-hour care and support for women who have survived human trafficking. Operated by the Mary Queen of Heaven Missionaries, the home offers a safe, nurturing environment where survivors can begin their journey of recovery, healing, and hope.
Every woman who arrives at Home of Love USA has a story of unimaginable hardship—but also the potential for extraordinary transformation. Thanks to your prayers and generous gifts, lives are being restored every day.
Below are just three examples of vulnerable women rescued from lives of exploitation and abuse whose journeys have been transformed by your compassion and support.
"Your kindness has given them more than shelter—it has given them hope, healing, and the opportunity to begin again."
Anna was homeless…
cold and tired. She needed to eat. The shadow of a man approached, making an offer in exchange for her dignity. About to do the unthinkable just to survive, a miracle intervened. A hand reached out. It belonged to the MQHM Home of Love USA. For the next twelve months, Anna rebuilt her broken pieces. Through tearful counseling sessions and steady rehabilitation, she rediscovered her worth. The ultimate healing came the day she stood before her mother, offering and receiving forgiveness. Today, her life is not defined by the streets, but by the quiet joy of family.
Elaina flinched at every loud noise…
the physical and emotional bruises of severe domestic abuse had left her trapped in a constant state of terror. When she finally broke free, a charity introduced her to Sister Isabel and Sister Monica, and they convinced her to enter the caring world of Home of Love USA. Safe from harm, Elaina’s world expanded. Professional counselors helped her process the trauma, while online classes opened doors she thought were permanently locked. Now, Elaina walks with her head held high. She is a proud employee of the Home of Love and a welcoming face to all who enter to begin their journey to a better life in God’s hands.
Marie, thousands of miles from home…
had lived through a nightmare. She had been trafficked into prostitution in Los Angeles, experiencing every day as a battle for survival. The moment she saw an opening, she ran. Exhausted, she sought refuge in a nearby Christian church, and the pastor connected her with our Home of Love. Marie arrived with nothing but a traumatic past, then left with a future. After intense counseling, a dedicated case manager helped her secure a job as a caretaker. She did so well that her client hired her permanently.
Upon admission to the Home of Love, each resident is welcomed and supported by dedicated staff, lay mission partners, and volunteers. To help them establish independence, residents receive assistance in obtaining medical insurance and are provided with a free cell phone and service plan, a bus pass, and a refurbished laptop generously donated by the Sisters of Charity of the Rolling Hills. These resources enable them to access online education, search for employment, and build essential life skills.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the daily life of the home by taking responsibility for household and garden tasks, fostering a sense of community and personal accountability. Mission partners regularly offer practical life-skills training, including cooking, baking, and other activities that promote confidence and self-sufficiency.
Home of Love USA respects each resident's freedom of religion, encouraging everyone to practice the faith tradition of their choice. Mass is celebrated on the first Saturday of every month, and priests from various religious orders visit regularly to provide pastoral support. The ministry also receives ongoing encouragement from representatives of the Social Action, Justice Ministry of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Filipino Ministry of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and the Knights of Columbus.
The facility can accommodate up to 20 residents and is staffed by a highly trained, compassionate team experienced in trauma recovery, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and complex life challenges. They are grateful to their professional partner agencies who walk alongside them in each survivor’s rehabilitation journey.
This Home of Love exists because of the generosity and prayers of donors, including GapFill.org. In partnership with local agencies, they are working together to restore dignity, hope, and purpose to young victims of trafficking.
We pray that God will pour out His mercy and compassion upon these survivors, and that this home will truly be a House of Mercy and Healing. May they encounter the saving power of Jesus Christ and, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, discover truth, freedom, and their God-given purpose.
As more victims are rescued, additional funding is urgently needed for housing, education, counseling, medical care, and daily living expenses.
Will you help us remove women and children from the streets and give them a chance at a new life? Thank you for prayerfully considering the needs of these precious survivors.
