Help Victims of Human Trafficking

72% of sex trafficking victims in California are American citizens. In October 2023, the newly established Regina Coeli Home of Love was joyfully blessed by Father Joseph Doss and Fr. Thomas Asia. Mission Partners gathered in prayer and fellowship to celebrate this important milestone to bring restorative healing to survivors of human trafficking.

The Regina Coeli Home of Love in Los Angeles County is a non-profit, Christ-based, 24-hour staffed, transitional housing program for survivors of human trafficking to begin their recovery and healing as they look toward a new life.

California has the highest rate of human trafficking in the United States, with Los Angeles County recognized as a major hotspot. Traffickers often prey on vulnerable populations, including runaways, individuals experiencing homelessness, those with disabilities, and low-income communities. Tragically, sex trafficking is more lucrative than the drug trade because victims are exploited repeatedly. The U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline receives more calls from California than any other state.

The Regina Coeli Home of Love Women’s Shelter provides up to one year of transitional housing and direct services for survivors of abuse. Using a holistic, strength-based approach, survivors are empowered to set and pursue their own goals in a safe, supportive environment as they rebuild their lives.

The facility can accommodate up to 20 residents and is staffed by a highly trained, compassionate team experienced in trauma recovery, sexual abuse, substance abuse, and complex life challenges. They are grateful to their professional partner agencies who walk alongside them in each survivor’s rehabilitation journey.

This Home of Love exists because of the generosity and prayers of donors, including GapFill.org. In partnership with local agencies, they are working together to restore dignity, hope, and purpose to young victims of trafficking.

We pray that God will pour out His mercy and compassion upon these survivors, and that this home will truly be a House of Mercy and Healing. May they encounter the saving power of Jesus Christ and, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, discover truth, freedom, and their God-given purpose.

As more victims are rescued, additional funding is urgently needed for housing, education, counseling, medical care, and daily living expenses.

Will you help us remove women and children from the streets and give them a chance at a new life? Thank you for prayerfully considering the needs of these precious survivors.
